Mali neighbors The BAMANA (BAMBARA)Tribe. They share similar style masks. The Marka decorate their masks with small mouths and raised lips at the bottom of an elongated face. The nose is extremely long similarly to the Aztec noses and yet it is slim. The eyes are cast downward. MARKA’S have an extensive use of bronze, copper and tin, fixed with brads or (small tacks) The design on these sheets are reminiscent of the ritual scarification of Marka Hunter.
